Britney Spears opened her Las Vegas residency last night, but music isn't the only thing on the pop princess's mind.
Spears tells me she'd love to return to the big screen. "I would love to act," she said. "I would love to do movies. If it was the right part, it would be really cool…I love funny movies."
Among Spears' most recent favorites are We're the Millers with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis and the 2011 megahit Bridesmaids. "I also love Jennifer Lopez movies," she said. "I love Jennifer Lopez."
Spears may have sold gazillions of records, but her acting career hasn't been as illustrious. She costarred with Taryn Manning and Zoe Saldana in Crossroads in 2002, followed by guest spots on television sitcoms Will & Grace and How I Met Your Mother.
After this weekend's four Britney Spears: Piece of Me shows at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Spears will take a month off before returning at the end of January.
"People should expect something very entertaining, a lot of fun and emotional, too," she also recently told me. "I think the show takes you on this fun rollercoaster of uplifting things and then moody stuff that grabs you and takes you in."
But the 32-year-old music superstar also admitted she thinks about retiring and going back to her Southern roots.
"I have thought about it, but I think right now is my time to perform and doing what I'm doing," she said. "If I happen to have another baby or something like that, I'd probably move back to Louisiana. I do miss Louisiana. I miss the people. I miss the food. I miss the way of life, how everything is really simple. There's no traffic like there is in L.A. It's really nice."
