Brad Pitt looks like he just returned from the battlefield. And for good reason.

The 49-year-old star, along with Shia LaBeouf and his Fury costars, posed for a picture snapped by the film's director, David Ayers. The men, including Kevin Vance, Jon Bernthal, and Logan Lerman, are dressed in their army uniforms and all have somewhat serious expressions as they wrap their arms around each other.

"Day 56," Ayers captioned the twitpic, which he added on Friday, Dec. 13. Ayers has been releasing a behind-the-scenes snapshot every day from the upcoming WWII drama.

Pitt's short hair is slicked back and his clean-shaven face is covered in grease.

Pitt and LaBeouf play American soldiers sent on a daring mission in Nazi Germany in April 1945, when Adolf Hitler's Third Reich is on the verge of collapse.

Before production began, the actors prepared for their roles by dropping in at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, Calif. back in June, where they conducted field research by talking with soldiers and spending the night embedded with an army unit.

Fury is set to hit theaters on Nov. 14, 2014.

Pitt took a break earlier this month and reunited with Angelina Jolie and their six kids in Australia. The Oscar-winning actress is currently Down Under where she's directing her upcoming film, Unbroken.

The fun family boarded a luxury yacht named "Ghost" in Sydney Harbor and spent several hours playing in the water and soaking up the sun. The Jolie-Pitts took a water taxi from the beach early in the morning and were ferried to the larger boat.

Shiloh, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Vivienne and Knox were all seen playing in the on the boat's front deck.

Later that night, mom and dad took the kids to the Sydney Zoo—which, we're told, the superstar couple rented out for the night—and enjoyed the zoo's "Roar & Snore" adventure packages, which includes a sleepover after visiting the animal attractions.
