Kim Kardashian Says New Bikini Pics Are "OK," but She Still Has "About 10 Pounds to Go"

North's mom dishes to E! News about when those photos were taken in Miami, how she's keeping the weight off and explains why it sucks when people say she did more than diet and exercise to drop pounds

When Kim Kardashian was ready to reveal her slimmed-down, post-baby swimsuit body to the world, she didn't mess around.

But her bikini body? Maybe she was a little rushed into that one.

"We were in Miami for [fiancé Kanye West's] tour and my friends and I had a morning off and we're like, 'Let's go to the beach,'" North West's mom dished to E! News at the 2013 Hollywood Reporter Women in Entertainment breakfast this morning, saying that someone had actually just shown her the Us Weekly cover featuring her bikini bod on the red carpet.

"We got to the beach, we turn around and we see all this paparazzi. I was like, 'Nope, we're not going to the beach,'" Kim laughed, shaking her head. "We walked in and I was like, 'I don't think I'm ready yet, I don't want to be seen...I'm not bikini-ready yet!"

But to the beach they want, the paps got their shots of Kim looking smokin' hot in a skimpy, white (what else?) string bikini and...

"So I saw one photo," Kim told E! News. "It was OK. I think I still have about 10 pounds to go."

Hey, each person is his or her own worst critic, right?

She said that she isn't going as "hard-core" with the Atkins diet as she first did once her doctor gave the go-ahead, but the high-protein regimen has "really trained me not to eat so many carbs. I used to eat so many carbs, and now I don't." She remains committed to keeping the weight off—and, apparently, to dropping more.

"I mean, as you get older and your body changes, you just can't eat the way you used to. So I'm training myself and I work out. You know, I love pilates, I love running. Now that we're on the road, just any gym in any hotel, I just go for it.

The 33-year-old star, who previously referred to her headline-making October swimsuit selfie as "a big middle finger" to those who threw shade both during and after her pregnancy, admitted that it's been really hard to hear people accuse her of resorting to means besides diet and exercise (means such as surgery) to drop the baby weight.

Even Kim doubted at one point her ability to whip herself back into shape—but she didn't let that feeling last for long.

"I think [the rumors] really upset me just because I worked so hard. This was such a challenge for me. I did gain a lot of weight, I did," she acknowledged. "It was hard for me...Everyone was really not the nicest with me when I was pregnant and in my mind...you lose sight for a second, like, 'Wait, what if I never get my body back to normal again?'

"For a second you think that. So I said to myself, 'I really want to commit to something and it's important for me, and because I was not a dieter that ever committed before...I always worked out, but it was a challenge for me. And so because I stuck through with it, I was so proud of myself for doing that, that it really upset me when people would always try and make it into something else of why I lost the weight."
