Watch: Blake Lively Visits L'Oreal's Paris Lab

Last month E! News broke the story that Blake Lively was named L'Oreal Paris spokesmodel. Now the beauty brand gives us a glimpse of what happened before that big announcement.

Nope, it's not a photo shoot (though we know that happened too), instead the former Gossip Girl actress spent a day at the brand's lab in Paris. There she met the creative minds that develop all the makeup and skin care that the French company is famous for.

The star tested out mascara brushes—all the while flashing her humongous diamond engagement ring from now-husband Ryan Reynolds—and even discovered just how they get lipstick into those tubes.

During her visit she describes the inventors as "world leaders," and says going behind the scenes is "a dream come true."

She also explains why she decided to become the face of the brand: "Everyone knows ‘L'Oreal Paris: Because you're worth it'," she explains. "And it doesn't mean that beauty is the center of your life, it means confidence is the center of your life."

To see the full visit, in which Blake somehow makes a lab coat look chic, watch the above video.
