Maulik Pancholy, the actor who played Jonathan, Jack Donaghy's ever-devoted personal assistant on 30 Rock and who often appeared to have a big crush on his boss, has officially come out as gay in real life.

Pancholy made the disclosure about his sexuality in an interview with Out for its annual "Out 100" list.

"I just celebrated my nine-year anniversary with my partner," the 39-year-old thespian told the magazine. "It feels like a nice time to be celebrating something like that, especially on the heels of the DOMA and Prop 8 decisions."

NBC

Pancholy currently voices the title character on Nickelodeon's animated comedy series, Sanjay and Craig, which just got picked up for a second season set to air in 2014.

He recently played two gay characters on network and cable television: as Neal on NBC's now-canceled sitcom, Whitney, and had a recurring role as the college dope dealer Sanjay Patel on Weeds who had a crush on Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) before he came out of the closet as gay at the start of season three.

Pancholy is the latest celeb to declare his homosexuality in a low-key manner, joining the likes of Prison Break's Wentworth Miller; Lucas Cruikshank, the star of Nickelodeon's Fred; and WWE wrestler Darren Young.
