It's not a hard and fast rule that when doing a reboot, you need the blessings of the originals, but it's a good idea to have them on board. So the people behind the Charmed remake might want to take notice.

After it was announced that CBS is working on bringing back the witchy series, castmembers Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan took to their Twitters to weigh in on their WB show coming back. And they were not fans of the idea.

"They really are running out of ideas in Hollywood," McGowan tweeted on Friday, adding: "Lame lame lame lamertons."

Milano was a bit softer with her reaction, but she still shared the same sentiment as her former onscreen (half-) sister.

"The thing about them doing a #charmed reboot is... it just... it feels like yesterday," she posted on Twitter. "It feels too close."

The Charmed reboot is still in the very early development stages over at CBS, so it's possible that this show won't make it to the small screen. But based on the recent surge of witch-centered TV series (The Originals, American Horror Story: Coven, Witches of East End), it's likely this show will keep coming down the pipeline. In fact, Milano told us recently that she thinks Charmed—which went off the air in 2006, help paved the way for witches ruling the airwaves.

"I think really it's due to the success of Charmed and the fact that it had so much success even after it was done, meaning that people looked for it, people searched it out and watched those episode over and over," the Mistresses star said. "The Charmed fans are the greatest fans on the planet and the most loyal fans on the planet. I feel like networks are trying to replicate that."

It seems like CBS is definitely trying to replicate the magic. The pilot script for the Charmed remake is being written by Party of Five's Chris Keyser and Sydney Sidner.

What say you, Charmed fans? Is it too soon?
