Not only did newly announced Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan sizzle with Victoria's Secret stunner Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in the pages of GQ back in 2006, but turns out, he also covered Out magazine that same year.

The 31-year-old hottie officially replaced Charlie Hunnam as titular character Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E.L. James' erotic trilogy on Thursday. The casting news, which has been the subject of rampant Internet speculation as of late, was annouced via a tweet from the series' author:

"Stow your twitchy palms ladies… our man is here. Welcome to #TeamFifty @JamieDornan1 x"

And suddenly, with a single tweet, Dornan's sex appeal in his previous modeling pics has seemingly skyrocketed.

In the throwback cover shot from Out, Jamie looks dapper in a dark suit while giving the camera a swoon-worthy stare with his shirt slightly unbuttoned and his tie undone.

In another superhot pic, the stud poses with his shirt off and shows off his six pack while flashing his bulging biceps and his buff bod, which, dare we say, is going to look mighty fine on the big screen.

Dornan will star opposite Dakota Johnson (who will play Anastasia Steele) in the racy flick, which is reportedly scheduled to begin filming in November.

The Northern Irish actor was rumored to have been the front-runner to replace the Sons of Anarchy star after he auditioned on Friday, Oct. 18.

"He had a really good read," a source exclusively told E! News, noting that the studio wasn't "worried" about Dornan's chemistry with his 24-year-old costar

After Universal Pictures confirmed the casting news, Dornan was spotted out and about in London, while Johnson was photographed making her way through LAX airport.

It was also announced this morning that True Blood star Luke Grimes has signed on to play Christian Grey's brother, Elliot, in the highly anticipated film adaptation.

Fifty Shades of Grey is currently slated for release on Aug. 1, 2014.

(E! and Universal Pictures are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
