CPR/Rocstar/FAMEFLYNET PICTURESKristen Bell is as low-key as they come. Three days after the Veronica Mars actress wed Parenthood's Dax Shepard at the Beverly Hills county clerk office, the 32-year-old star quietly stepped out in Los Feliz, Calif., on Sunday, Sept. 20.
While carrying clothes out of a friend's house, Bell flashed the 3-carat emerald-cut diamond ring that Shepard gave her in 2010. Though Shepard was the first to propose, Bell asked her beau for his hand in marriage in June 2013 after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act, which prohibited same-sex couples from legally tying the knot.
The Hit and Run costars are known LGBTQ supporters, which is why Bell and Shepard made the joint decision to put their wedding on hold. "The reason we're not rushing to get married is because I don't feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that's denied to my [gay and lesbian] friends," the House of Lies star said on Hulu's Larry King Now in August 2012.
Just weeks ago, Bell joked that her "laziness" was delaying wedding plans. "I have to unfortunately report that we just haven't gotten it together on a Saturday to get to the court house," she told E! News. "But we have every intention to. We have every intention to. We wanna sign those papers!"
The When in Rome costars—parents to 4-month-old daughter Lincoln—applied for a marriage license on Thursday, Oct. 17. While there, they decided to get hitched on the spot. Bell seemingly confirmed their union via Twitter the following day, writing, "Wife coffee tastes way better than regular coffee in the morning."
