At this point, it appears that we're going to have one possible actor per shade before all is said and done.
French-Canadian hottie François Arnaud is the latest thesp to be thrust into the Fifty Shades of Grey casting conversation following the exit over the weekend of Charlie Hunnam, who ultimately had too much on his plate to stick with the role of Christian Grey.
A source confirmed tonight to E! News that the studio has "expressed interest" in Arnaud.
But as insiders also reminded Just Jared, which was first to report the newest name to be linked to the more-hyped-than-ever movie, that no more than talking has occurred at this point and that neither Arnaud nor any of the other guys rumored to be in consideration—including Jamie Dornan and Christian Cooke—have been offered the job.
Breathe, Dakota Johnson. Just breathe.
The 28-year-old Arnaud is best known for playing Cesare Borgia on the recently concluded Showtime drama The Borgias and he appeared in the indie Civil War drama Copperhead with Billy Campbell and Peter Fonda, which had a limited release this summer.
According to IMDb, his birth name is François Barbeau and he graduated from the Conservatoire d'art dramatique in his native Montreal.
And according to our eyeballs, Arnaud has brooding eyes, thick hair and good bone structure. We'll see what E.L. James has to say about him.
