Kerry Washington is finally (sort of) opening up about her secret wedding and marriage to NFL star hubby Nnamdi Asomugha.

During her Paley Center for Media Q&A earlier today in NYC, the super secretive Scandal star was asked about tying the knot over the summer. And her answer, may surprise you!

"I hate keeping secrets; that is the worst thing for me, because I always want to talk about it," Washington said, but clarified where she draws the line. "I am really private about my personal life."

E! News broke the news that the lovebirds secretly wed in an Idaho ceremony back in July. Without getting any more personal, Washington went on talking about her craft.

"I try to be really naked emotionally in my work, and I am not holding back at all when it comes to my work," she said, drawing a distinction between the public nature of her work and the private aspect of her personal life. "I am giving all that I can in my work....So my work belongs to everyone—because that's the choice I made—and my life belongs to me."

While we'll have to wait and see if Washington and Asomugha decide to have a baby any time soon, the question arose of what the actress' TV alter ego Olivia Pope would do if she got pregnant.

"I don't know! God, those are Shonda [Rhimes] questions!" she laughed to E! News today. "I really never know where the show is going. That's the part I love about television: You just don't know what the beginning, the middle and end is going to be, so really anything can happen. Olivia can die, she can get married, she can get pregnant, anything can really happen."
