Cecily Strong will be joining the Weekend Update desk.

With current anchor of the popular Saturday Night Live sketch, Seth Meyers, making his own exit from the show in February to spend four nights a week hosting the Late Night show on NBC, creator Lorne Michaels chose Strong to co-anchor with Meyers.

"Cecily, from the first show, was right there," Michaels told The New York Times. "She exploded."

"Very excited about the new Weekend Update co-anchor, @cecilybecily!," Meyers tweeted.

Strong replied, "Lets hope I make it through the first show without barfing or fainting!"

Cecily, who joined SNL as a featured player last year, was a constant visitor to the Update desk as "the Girl You Wished You Hadn't Started a Conversation With at a Party."

"As for The Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation with, it's prob safe to assume that she died somewhere, mid-conversation," Meyers quipped on Twitter.

"I'm pretty sure she joined a cult," Strong responded.
