Brad Pitt is master of the man ponytail no more.

Yes, Angelina Jolie's love has—prepare yourself!—finally cut off those long, luscious locks we'd all grown to love.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the 49-year-old actor and his short, nearly-buzzed new 'do were hard at work on the set of Fury in the English countryside. It appears that the father of six had to cut his hair for the World War II film, in which he plays an Army sergeant named Wardaddy.

Just four days before at the Toronto International Film Festival, Brad's highlighted tresses were pulled back into a low ponytail for the red carpet premiere of 12 Years a Slave.

And, yes, we've all kind of gotten used to seeing Brad with a chin-length (or longer) cut, but he has gone short—very short—in the past. In fact, when Brad first worked with Angelina on the 2005 movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, he played a clean-shaven, short-haired assassin! He had short hair in The Tree of Life and Inglorious Bastards. And just look at The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Brad's character had every kind of hair—including a comb-over!

We won't even get into all the frosted-tip looks in the '90s. The point is Brad looks sexy with every hairstyle. But if you're really missing the ponytail, take heart: Hair grows!
