Add Lucas Cruikshank to the ranks of the out and proud.

The star of Nickelodeon's Fred series has revealed that he is gay, opting to set the record straight in a comedic YouTube video in which he at first appeared to be engaging in an everyday Q&A with fans.

"Let's get to the questions: First, why do you both look so pretty?" Cruikshank smiled alongside actress Jennifer Veal, of Disney Channel's Jessie, both of them tucked into bed for the Tuesday afternoon rap session.

"I just don't know," Veal replied innocently.

More light-hearted questions ensued and then, about 1:18 into the video, came the question: "Are you gay?!"

"That's so funny, hearing you say it," Cruikshank squealed as both he and Veal dissolved into giggles.

"He's gay," Veal said, putting up her hands in a "Whadda ya gonna do?" gesture.

"I'm gay," agreed Cruikshank. "It feels so weird saying it on camera!"

Cue much more laughter from the actor and his BFF.

"You seriously think that we would have sleepovers, Instagram him doing face masks?" Veal asked the camera, implying that the clues have always been there.

"My friends and family have known for, like, three years, I just haven't felt the need to announce it on the Internet," said Cruikshank, who will turn 20 on Aug. 29. "I feel awkward!"

But there was no need to feel awkward—Cruikshank's fans immediately started showing their support via Twitter.

"I honestly love you all so much. Your support is everything and I'm glad you liked the video," the young man of the hour tweeted.

And it appears that he has won himself some new fans as well. "What!?!?" Cruikshank tweeted along with a screengrab of a "proud of you!" message from none other than Cher.

After getting his start on TV with bit parts on iCarly and Hannah Montana, Cruikshank scored the role of Fred Figglehorn in Fred: The Movie and went on to reprise the high-pitched handful of a character in Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred, Fred: The Show, Camp Fred and more Fredcentric projects.

He most recently starred in the Nickelodeon sitcom Marvin Marvin.
