The power of Twitter at their fingertips and this is the Sharknado sequel title they went with?

The producers of one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces of our time, SyFy's Sharknado, left the sequel title up to the fans, and over 5,000 suggestions were submitted via Twitter. And today, SyFy revealed the title to the world. Prepare yourselves, but in a way you prepare to make a left hand turn—although a left hand turn can be tricky and exciting so we'll say right hand turn at a green light, because that's about how exciting the title is:

Sharknado 2: The Second One

Because the first one wasn't deadly enough! Or some tagline like that. Not great, but the comedy is in how boring the title is, so we'll let it slide.

"Since Twitter played such a huge role in the success of the original movie, we wanted to use that platform to ask our fans to name Sharknado 2," Thomas Vitale, executive VP of SyFy programming said in a statement. "This response is another reminder of how Sharknado has become a pop culture phenomenon. We want to thank all our viewers for their wonderful contributions to keeping up the shark-mentum."

Meanwhile, Sharknado stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid appeared on Discovery Channel's nightly Shark Week talk show Shark After Dark to talk about the film that will surely go down in history as the movie with the most sharks combined with tornadoes ever.

Reid, who said she "learned a little education about sharks" before appearing on the show, admits she thought whale sharks were the product of whales and sharks getting down to some Jodeci. You'll see what we mean if you watch the clip below.

The Sharknado team did not reveal which Twitter user picked the title, which is probably for the better since the world might rage on them over their unoriginal pick. Or that person might reveal themselves and become so famous over their Sharknado victory that SyFy makes a movie about it called Twitternado: The First Tweet.

Sharknado 2: The Second One will hopefully arrive less anti-climatically on  July, 2014.

(E! and SyFy are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
