A blogger covering Michael Jackson's wrongful-death trial in Los Angeles has been banned after he allegedly shot an unauthorized photo while at the courthouse Wednesday.
Per Yahoo! News, William Wagener was riding a courthouse escalator when he supposedly used his phone to snap a photo that included several of the jurors in the trial. His phone was reportedly confiscated following the incident.
Wagener, who also covered Jackson's 2005 child-abuse trail, claimed he had accidentally shot the photo, and he has been ordered to appear in court Thursday to learn if the ban is permanent.
The incident comes amid heightened security measures surrounding the trial, and the presiding judge had repeatedly warned attendees about shooting photos during the proceedings.
According to the BBC, Wagener hopes to make a documentary about the trail and has jump-started a campaign to try to raise $10 million to fund it.
On Monday, Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson, resumed her testimony in court and claimed, among other things, that she was unaware that her son had a been abusing prescription medication.
"I knew he was taking [pain pills], but I didn't know he was abusing them," she said, adding that at one point she confronted Michael about it but that he subsequently denied he had an addiction problem.
She also revealed that she participated in an alleged intervention at Neverland Ranch in 2002, but that her son was upset "because when we got there, there was nothing wrong with him." Katherine later said she felt embarrassed to have been there during the intervention.
Katherine is suing AEG Live on behalf of her son's estate, accusing the concert promoter of negligence by hiring Dr. Conrad Murray to oversee her son's health and ultimately being complicit in the King of Pop's death from a propofol overdose.
