Selena Gomez may only be 20, but she's always thinking about the future.
In this sneak peek at the E! Special Ryan Seacrest with Selena Gomez (airing Sunday at 10 p.m.), Ryan Seacrest talks to the young star about leaving the nest and her 10-year plan.
"Yeah, you know I think it's time," the singer says about getting her own place.
"I didn't ever wanna be forceful to saying, 'OK, I've made enough to get my own house and OK, let's blow it off and do whatever.' I just love being with my family and I love knowing that they're there. But yeah, I think it's probably time for me to get my own house."
"Have you mapped out a 10-year plan? Do you think like that?" Seacrest asks.
Gomez admits that she does plan for the future, but she's also very aware that nothing is set in stone, and that various situations could arise to change what she has in mind for her professional and personal life.
"I do, but you just never know how it's gonna execute. I have goals—personally and in my professional career, too—but what's in today could be gone tomorrow, so you might not see me in five years," she says.
Regardless, Selena says she will always be working, until the day comes that she begins a family of her own.
"That's when everything will probably slow down," she explains. And when it comes to wanting a big or small family—well, she has a very simple answer for that one.
"I mean, I'm Latin, so…[laughs]," Gomez quips, but adds, "I don't know, obviously when that time comes I'll decide, but of course I like having a big family."
