Robert Pattinson's Rover will be touching down in theaters.

A24, whose other recent acquisitions include The Bling Ring and Spring Breakers, has snatched up U.S. distribution rights to the thriller--which also happens to be Pattinson's first post-Twilight Saga project.

The Brit spent nearly two months getting down and dirty (heavy on the dirty) in Australia for The Rover, in which he stars as a member of an outlaw gang who gets ditched in the desert in a dystopian future and is enlisted by Guy Pearce's loner to help track down a stolen car.

The film is director David Michôd's feature follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2010 crime drama Animal Kingdom, for which Jacki Weaver scored an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Michôd also wrote the screenplay based on a story he cocreated with Joel Edgerton—yes, the one from The Great Gatsby.

"David is a visionary filmmaker and we are thrilled to work with him to bring The Rover to U.S. audiences. The movie will undoubtedly confirm his singular voice and distinctive gift for creating arresting visuals and indelible characters," A24 said in a statement.

The Rover doesn't have a release date yet...but it's nice to know it's coming, right?

In the meantime, while we wonder just what partying with Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James really means as far as his rumored involvement in the film goes, we'll just have to ogle Rob in print. (We at least know that that hotly anticipated movie comes out Aug. 1, 2014 and Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing.)

The 27-year-old is the new face of Christian Dior's men's fragrance and, though the commercial he shot last year isn't playing in the U.S. yet, we can gauge its high level of hotness from the pics we've seen. Caps off again to Camille Rowe, the lucky model who got to lock lips with Rob for the campaign.
