Who would have guessed that the story of Ian Somerhalder's Twitter hacking would have a happy ending?

Earlier today, the Vampire Diaries star's Twitter account was compromised by an Internet prankster before, with the help of fan followers, the hacker was found on the social networking site!

"@fpt you are an ass my friend. Get out of my acct," Somerhalder tweeted to the culprit.

Just a few hours later, the 34-year-old hunk shared a screenshot from his iPhone of a conversation he subsequently had with the hacker via Twitter direct message. "From my twitter account hacker.Was just having some fun he/she said.Now back to work-filming today;)," Somerhalder captioned the pic.

The conversation between Somerhalder and his online foe went something like this.

Hacker: "lol I know you're probably pissed but I have nothing but respect for you – was just having a little fun. No hard feelings?"

Hacker: "Let me know how I can make it up to you (or block me if you want). I wont message you again unless you respond – Peace."

Somerhalder: "Really Not Cool… I appreciate the message though.. Yes, please stop. Have a great day."

Kindness in the face of annoying Internet shenanigans—just another reason to love Ian Somerhalder.
