Debbie Rowe got a visit from the authorities today.

Police stopped by Paris Jackson's mother's house in Palmdale, Calif., in an attempt to obtain any clues or information in regard to her daughter's hospitalization early this morning following an alleged suicide attempt.

Paris was rushed to the hospital around 1:30 a.m. for a possible overdose and cuts on her wrists from a meat cleaver, E! News confirms from a Jackson source.

The insider tells us the family "is shocked. It's one thing for her to say she was going to do it, but they never thought she'd go through with it. Paris was ready for summer, to get away and spend time with Debbie."

Although initial reports claim the 15-year-old's attempt was due to not being able to attend a Marilyn Manson concert, E! News learns, "It was depression building up, deeper things going on, not just 'Oh, I can't go to the concert.' It was a continuous feeling that has been going on."

And that includes a recent rift in her relationship with younger brother Prince Michael.

A source tells E! News exclusively that Paris has been working to mend her relationship with Rowe, something Prince doesn't support.

"Prince has not wanted anything to do with Debbie," the insider says. "He does not understand why Paris is so intent on rebuilding the relationship. He does not feel a bond with Debbie and feels like it would betray Katherine [Jackson] in some way."

Rowe's attorney tells E! News, "We appreciate everyone's thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family's privacy."
