Is being called roundish less offensive than being called fat?

In the eyes of Karl Lagerfeld, yes.

The infamously candid creative director of Chanel took the time to clarify comments he made about Adele's weight last year, in which he described the Grammy winner as being "a little too fat."

After a lot of public backlash for his thoughts on the songbird's figure—including a slam from Madonna—the designer promptly issued an apology.

But based on his recent explanation of his comments during an interview with CNN's Fashion: Backstage Pass, we're not so sure the Kaiser is all that repentant.

"I never said that she was fat, I said that she was a little roundish; a little roundish is not fat," he clarified to interviewer Anita Cho."But for such a beautiful girl, after that she lost eight kilo [17.6 pounds] so I think the message was not that bad."

Hmm, sounds to us like Lagerfeld actually thinks he did Adele a favor.

But what do you think? Does it sound like Karl's sorry about his comments?
