Kylie Jenner will always be there to support her pal Jaden Smith.

The E! star was in New York City last night for Smith's After Earth premiere and, after explaining to E! News that it's important to show up and be supportive of such a good friend's new project, added that, "He comes and supports me with everything that I do." Jenner said that having a friend who knows what the spotlight is like makes their friendship that much better.

"It's refreshing," she tells us. "Some people don't understand and some people do. And it's just great to have someone grow up in the same position as you and you can relate in that kind of way, so it's fun."

And with the fame comes some harsh criticism, something the Kardashian and Jenner family know all too well, but Kylie tells us she learned how to deal with the haters at a young age.

"Honestly, my sisters taught me when I was 9—when we first started the show—not to read it, not to listen to it. My family probably gets so much hate. I know we get so much hate, but we can't listen to it."

Sounds like a good plan.
