Talk about Oscar bait.

The trailer for August: Osage County has just hit the web and by the looks of things, Meryl Streep is easily on her way to capturing her 18th Academy Award nomination.

The upcoming comedy-drama, based on the Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning play and produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov, finds the screen legend leading an all-star cast that includes Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Cooper, Sam Shepard, Abigail Breslin, Juliette Lewis, and Dermot Mulroney.

As the teaser reveals, the story centers on a dysfunctional Oklahoma family whose acid-tongued matriarch, Violet Weston (Streep), suffers from mouth cancer and is addicted to pills.

When her alcoholic poet husband (Shepard) disappears, Violet's eldest daughter Barbara (Roberts) and her estranged husband Bill (McGregor) arrive to be by her side along with other family members like youngest daughter Karen (Lewis) and Violet's brother-in-law, Charlie (Cooper). Conflict ensues as each reach a series of reckonings about the family's dark past and each other.

August: Osage County hits theaters on Nov. 8—just in time for awards season.
