Just keep wishing, just keep wishing...

And our wish has come true! Of course, we're quoting Dory from Finding Nemo, because we're squealing with excitement over the news there is officially a sequel in the works for the hit Disney-Pixar flick, Finding Dory.

Ellen DeGeneres, who played the voice of the beloved blue fish in the first film took to Twitter today to share the news with her fans, captioning a Finding Dory Instagram pic "It's official." She also shared the news on her show, telling the audience, "I'm excited that it's finally happening. I read the script and it's fantastic, it's hilarious, it's warm, it's everything that you want it to be."

The follow-up to the 2003 Oscar-winning hit focuses on DeGeneres' character and will be directed by the original Nemo codirector Andrew Stanton

"I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time," the 55-year-old funnygal said in a statement. "I'm not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It's got a lot of heart, it's really funny, and the best part is—it's got a lot more Dory."

According to Statton, the follow-up flick takes place about a year after the original and will also include fan-favorite characters such as Nemo, Marlin and the Tank Gang.

The film is set to hit theaters Nov. 25, 2015.

Too bad we can't speak whale to express our enthusiasm!
