Sounds like the Prop 8 movie is on the fast track.

When Dustin Lance Black's play 8 about the Prop 8 hearings in California was put on in New York City and Los Angeles about a year ago, director Rob Reiner told us he and the Oscar-winning screenwriter were already talking about a big-screen adaptation.

But now we've learned that the Supreme Court's decision to hear the Prop 8 case has spurred Black to complete the script as soon as possible.

Directed by Reiner, the L.A. production starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Bomer, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Kevin Bacon.

In NYC, Joe Mantello directed the performance headlined by Morgan Freeman, Ellen Barkin, John Lithgow and Cheyenne Jackson.

Reiner recently told BuzzFeed that cameras probably wouldn't start rolling on the film until the Supreme Court rules on Prop 8, probably in June or July.

No word on who may star in the movie.
