Diane Lane and Josh Brolin have called it quits after eight years of marriage. And according to divorce documents filed by Lane on Feb. 15 in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by E! News, the actress now wants to get her life back.

Starting with her name.

Although the 48-year-old star's screen name has never changed since she and Brolin, 45, wed in 2004, documents reveal that the Secretariat star legally took her ex-husband's surname, identifying herself as Diane Lane Brolin. She is now asking that her former name be restored.

Lane cited irreconcilable differences for the breakdown of their marriage and listed their date of separation as Feb. 13.

The couple have no children, although Lane has a daughter from her previous marriage to Christopher Lambert, and the Gangster Squad actor has a son and a daughter with ex-wife Alice Adair.

A source tells E! News that the split was "amicable" and "a mutual decision," adding: "It's not ugly, it's just over."
