Twi-hards, you can come out of mourning: The dark days are now behind you.

On-the-mend twosome Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted together in Los Angeles Monday, their third sighting in as many days as the duo continue to give their relationship a second shot in the wake of her cheating scandal.

The duo headed out to lunch with pals in Hollywood, and although there wasn't any noticeable PDA, they did sport matching backward baseball caps. Small steps! (Next time, she might want to wear his old shirt again to really drill in the mea culpa.)

The lunch date comes just a day after the two were spotted canoodling at Ye Rustic Inn in Los Feliz Sunday night, and attending a friend's birthday bash at the Chateau Marmont on Saturday, and just after word broke that Kristen has purchased a home in Los Feliz, the same Los Angeles neighborhood in which Rob already lives. The two seem happy to be in each other's company after Pattinson spent a week in New York.

It was less than two weeks ago that they were first spotted spotted together on a date in Los Angeles and a month after E! News exclusively reported that they had been meeting up in secret following her hookup with with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

For the time being, however, they remain content to keep their reconciliation on the down-low. While Pattinson made a solo appearence at last night's Elle Women in Hollywood event, an insider tells E! News that he and Stewart decided against attending together to avoid turning the event into a feeding frenzy and take away from those being honored (including Pattinson pal Uma Thurman, with whom he presented an award). Pattinson and Stewart are still scheduled to make the media rounds together later this month in support of Breaking Dawn Part 2, which opens Nov. 16.

So what prompted them to recouple after photographic evidence of her indiscretion was plastered over the Internet and magazine covers? A source tells E! News that a contrite Stewart has assured Pattinson that her fling with Sanders was a momentary lapse that won't ever happen again.

"He decided to forgive her," our source tells us. "He is justifying it by believing her story that it was a one-off mistake and it will never happen again. People make mistakes, and he loves her, and he is willing to believe that she won't stray again."

The source also adds that K.Stew "seems truly sorry" for "a severe lack of judgment."

That echoes Stewart's initial statement following news of her liaison with Sanders. "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," she said at the time. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

Hey, if there's anything we've learned from the Twilight saga, it's that anything—even flatlined love affairs—can come back from the dead.
