Dexter returns tonight! And just in case you forgot, last season's final minutes basically exploded everything we know about the hit Showtime series. By revealing Dexter's biggest secret to his sister, it effectively changes everything. Everything.

We know that Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Deb's (Jennifer Carpenter) relationship is forever altered by what she witnessed in the church. But will Dexter talk his way out of this one? Deb is consistently a voice of morality on the show, but will she turn a blind eye for her brother? And what other dangers lurk in season seven?

Here's all you need to know to be all caught up:

WHAT WE LEARNED

Sibling Shocker: So you know how Dexter never wanted Deb to learn his secret? Well, now the cat's out of the bag. In last year's finale, Deb walked in on Dexter at work, after he killed Travis Marshall (Colin Hanks). Will this discovery put the kibosh on Deb's opposite-of-sisterly feelings for Dex?

Friend or Foe? There's a new creep in town. In Dexter, you can never trust anyone who takes a little too much interest in our anti-hero, and Louis (Josh Cooke) is definitely too interested. And we now know he is the one who bought the Ice Truck Killer's prosthetic arm. Creepy.

WHAT LIES AHEAD

Off the Rails: When Dexter is out of control it's usually when he gets into the most trouble. And when it comes to his sister, he's feeling a bit out of sorts. So will his dark passenger take control and start slicing? Or will Dexter refocus his energy? Executive producer Sara Colleton tells us that Deb learning his secret has "absolutely rocked his world. He has to learn to live with that any moment she could, if she wanted to, turn him in."

Under Pressure: Dexter isn't the only one struggling with this secret. Deb is also struggling to accept it. "It's a very treacherous path that she's going to navigate week-to-week," Colleton reveals. So even if Deb doesn't come clean instantly, it doesn't mean she won't.

Old Wounds: Nothing ever stays buried forever. And LaGuerta (Lauren Vélez) could be on the path to discovering what she's believed all along, that her friend Sgt. Doakes wasn't the Bay Harbor Butcher. Colleton says she'll be "relentless" in her search for the truth.

Dexter returns on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9 p.m.
