Marion Cotillard's Golden Moment

Categories: movies, awards
Marion Cotillard, La Vie en Rose

“Champagne.”

That's how Marion Cotillard plans to celebrate her Golden Globe nomination. “I am really enjoying every minute and second of it!”

Cotillard is on the phone with me from Paris, where she says she didn’t find out she was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy (for her remarkable turn as the late Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose) until two hours after it was announced.

Is Ramirez Aiken to Make a Return to Broadway?

Categories: broadway, television, music
Sara Ramirez, Clay Aiken

Sara Ramirez's rep is shooting down rumors that the Grey’s Anatomy star is headed back to Broadway.

Sources in New York City had been telling me Ramirez was considering using some of her time off during the current writers' strike to return to Spamalot, the nearly three-year-old hit musical inspired by the classic 1975 feature film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Ramirez earned a 2005 Tony Award for her work in the show as the Lady of the Lake.

At the same time, I was told Ms. Ramirez had expressed some reservations about American Idol wannabe and Broadway virgin Clay Aiken joining the cast in January as Sir Robin. Aiken’s gig runs from Jan. 18 to May 4. The role was originated by David Hyde Pierce.

Sienna's Smokin' Date with Rhys

Categories: romance, fashion
Sienna Miller, Rhys Ifans

The couple that smokes together stays together?

I just heard from a source in London who spotted Sienna Miller and boyfriend Rhys Ifans on Monday night at the Spiritualized show at Union Chapel in Islington. “They made a dash for a liquor store to buy cigarettes, which they had to smoke outside in the cold due to the smoking ban,” the source wrote in an email.

While Miller, 25, and Ifans, 39, have reportedly been dating since August, the source said the only lip lockin’ they were doing the other night was “with dozens of cigarettes.”

“She probably kept out the cold with her huge white furry coat,” I am told. “Unfortunately, Rhys was in an ill-fitting leather jacket and an ill-fitting Rod Stewart '70s hairstyle.”

Sounds like the very fashionable Ms. Miller needs to give her man a makeover.

Lopez's Sin City Boob Job

Mario Lopez

Mario Lopez might want to be a little more choosy about the gigs he accepts.

Case in point: Last night’s Boobs or Bust 2/Go Big or Go Home party at Jet nightclub in Las Vegas. The former Dancing with the Stars contestant hosted the evening, which featured a contest for women competing to win $5,000 to help pay for breast augmentation surgery.

I kid you not.

Here’s how it worked. The club distributed preprinted "boob bucks" to bottle-service customers. Women hoping for new breasts had to convince said customers to hand over their bucks. The gal who collected the most scored the grand prize.

And what would a Sin City bash like this one be without entertainer Jeff Beacher? He was dressed as Santa Claus, while his mini Spice Girls (little people dressed as the recently reunited pop stars) performed “Wannabe.”

Lopez’s girlfriend and former Dancing partner, Karina Smirnoff, should be happy to know her hunky boyfriend was on his best behavior. Lopez made sure security kept overly eager gals hoping for his bucks at bay.

Cops Order Fergie to Stop the Music

Categories: music, parties
Fergie

Life wasn’t so glamorous for Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas last night.

The hitmakers were performing at an outdoor concert for the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego when, I’m told, four police officers pulled the plug at about 11:30 p.m.

A rep for the hotel told me the Peas were about 90 minutes into their show in the hotel’s alfresco event space when the cops arrived. Apparently, locals as far as two miles away were complaining about the loud music.

Sarah Jessica's West Coast Sex

Categories: television, movies, sex
Sex and the City

I just got word that the cast and crew of Sex and the City are likely to be landing on the West Coast any day now.

I hear Sarah Jessica Parker & Co. will be spending time in Malibu shooting the movie adaptation of the hit HBO series. My source says scenes will take place there, but parts of the ritzy beach community may also be stand-ins for Mexico’s playground for the rich and famous, Cabo San Lucas. There's also talk they’ll actually do some shooting in Cabo.

A rep for the flick would only confirm that shooting will begin in the next week or two somewhere on the West Coast. She declined to reveal exact locales.

Is a trip to Cabo another sign that Carrie and Mr. Big finally get hitched? Cabo is certainly a honeymoon hot spot.

Sacha Baron Cohen's Big Bulge Surprise

Sacha Baron Cohen, Sweeney Todd

Sacha Baron Cohen has a thing for showing off his privates. Well, what appear to be his privates, that is.

We’ve already been subjected to Borat dressed in that barely there fluorescent-green banana-hammock bathing suit. Now comes his hilarious turn as Signor Adolfo Pirelli opposite Johnny Depp in Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd.

There’s no missing Pirelli’s package. “Oh, that was the real thing,” Sweeney Todd’s two-time Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood told me the other day with a giggle, but quickly admitting, “Yeah, we augmented.”

No surprise, it was Cohen's idea to enlarge his manhood for the flick. Cohen’s body-hugging pants were stuffed with “a little quilted thing.”

Well, not so little. But Atwood said she hopes it comes off somewhat authentic. “We tried different materials and different sizes and positions,” Atwood said with a laugh. “You kind of forget what you’re doing, and you’re just sort of looking at what looks the best. I like if a lot of people think it’s real.”
